Chuting the material through the space between the casing and the PVC cover minimizes the risk of accidents and equipment damage.
With cover dimensions custom-tailored to the auger diameter (allowing a 20-30% clearance for the anticipated volume of cuttings), the drilling depth, and the specific soil formation, the excavated material drops freely and vertically right next to the drilling point. This minimizes the risk of the cuttings jamming and accumulating inside the cover.
As the borehole deepens and the auger is lowered, the flexible cover automatically folds up. This ensures that protection is always maintained at the appropriate height without obstructing the operation or sustaining damage from contact with the ground (a 10-meter cover takes up only about 1 meter of space when fully collapsed).

Types of covers
We offer 2 series of CCFA drilling rig covers, selected depending on the type of soil formation being drilled.
Basic series
Standard covers without additional reinforcements, designed for operation in unconsolidated formations, such as sand and cobbles, where the cuttings discharge easily and do not clump. Made from abrasion-resistant PVC fabric.
Reinforced series
Covers equipped with welded external reinforcing straps or cables. Designed for challenging cohesive clay and silt strata, where the excavation material clumps into heavy blocks and tends to jam inside the cover (the weight of the cuttings inside the cover can reach up to 2–3 tons). The external straps prevent the cover from tearing completely in the event of material jamming.

Diameter

The starting point is the casing diameter and the anticipated volume of excavation material. You should allow for an additional 20-30% clearance over these values. The cover cannot be too tight (risk of clogging) or too loose (limited space between the auger and the mast of the drilling rig).

Depending on the continuous flight auger's length and thanks to the modular design of our covers, we can use 3-, 4-, or 5-meter sections to provide a chute of the desired length, tailored to your specific operations, once the segments are connected.
Type

We offer standard covers for drilling in sandy or cobble formations, and reinforced covers dedicated to drilling in clay or cohesive soil strata, where the risk of the material clumping into heavy blocks increases.

The distance from the drilling axis to the machine, whether it's 80, 90, or 120 cm, is not a problem for us – we will determine the perfect outer diameter for you. We will also customize the suspension eyelets and cover grips in a similar manner.
